Our Botanical Philosophy
Fruity Puppy™ and Thorny Toad™ products use cold-extracted materials from fruits, leaves, rinds, and other plant matter.
Our gentle extraction methods include:
• ice extraction
• fine filtration
• lipid encapsulation in a structured butter lattice
These techniques aim to minimize whole-plant proteins and particulates while retaining beneficial botanical compounds.
Trace amounts of plant proteins or matter may remain.Due to the use of authentic plant-derived ingredients, we recommend that individuals with known sensitivities to fruits, botanicals, pollen, or latex perform a patch test before full use.
Potential Cross-Reactive Botanicals
Our formulations may incorporate extracts from:
• papaya
• passionfruit (lilikoi)
• raspberry family (rosaceae)
• citrus peel (e.g., lemon rind)
• mint (menthol-containing leaves)
• aloe
• hibiscus species
• guava species
• camellia sinensis (green tea)
• legume-family fruit (ice cream bean)
These are not classified as major allergens under U.S. federal cosmetic labeling requirements. However, individuals with specific sensitivities may experience irritation or allergic-type responses.
Latex–Fruit Cross-Reactivity Notice
Some individuals with latex allergy may experience cross-reactivity with certain fruits and botanicals due to similar proteins (known as latex-fruit syndrome).
Relevant to our ingredients:
• papaya
• passionfruit (lilikoi)
• aloe vera
if you have a diagnosed latex allergy or sensitivity, consult a healthcare professional before using these products.
Contact Sensitivity & Photosensitivity
Certain botanicals, such as citrus peel, mint, and aloe extracts, may contribute to increased skin sensitivity in some people.
Possible reactions include:
• redness
• mild irritation
• contact dermatitis
• heightened sun sensitivity (particularly with citrus-derived ingredients)
Avoid applying to broken, irritated, or compromised skin; the eye area; or mucous membranes. Discontinue use immediately if irritation develops and seek medical advice if needed.
Patch Test Instructions
To help minimize risk: apply a small amount to the inner forearm.
Leave undisturbed for 24 hours.
Observe for any redness, itching, swelling, or other irritation.
If a reaction occurs, do not use the product.
Processing & Allergen Reduction
Our proprietary ice extraction and butter lattice encapsulation processes are intended to:
• reduce particulate plant matter
• lower potential protein content
• achieve consistent dilution
while these methods help minimize allergenic potential, they do not eliminate it entirely.

Storage & Handling Recommendations
• refrigerate after opening to maintain quality.

• prevent water from entering containers.
• store away from direct sunlight and extreme heat.
Natural botanical ingredients may cause minor variations in color, scent, or texture over time, including slight separation. This is normal and does not indicate spoilage or defect.
